Thanks For 4000 pageviews!

Seriously, that was quick! And I haven't even been posting as much as I'd like!

Stay tuned for general stuff and fun, as always...

Victorian Maiden Gets In On The 'Royal' Trend...

Okay, maybe it's not a trend, as such, but after the release of AP's Royal Chocolate series, I'm just assuming that there will be Royal pieces EVERYWHERE. It will happen... mark my words... with highlighter.

Anyway, while skimming through the VM website, I found this beauty up for reserve:

This release is called Royal Tartan (no surprises there), and since I'm an absolute sucker for tartan, I'm in love with it! The details are lovely, and the gold print consists of small, golden crowns and fleurs-de-lis.

This isn't even available for reserve anymore, so if you reserved one, lucky you! If not, this post is to tease you (even though I'm just teasing myself as well T.T).

I Wonder What This Could Be... Have a Guess!

There are no prizes for guessing what this means, but please, guess away.

Marionette Clock - Angelic Pretty

Yet another release is coming up from Angelic Pretty, this time it's a much more toned down series, called Marionette Clock. The following pictures shows the series in its entirety (so far!)

This the most Alice-y series I've seen from a brand in a long time. It might be a little odd, just having numbers all over the place, but I like it. I really like the sax colour, I wouldn't mind an op or a jsk :P The bag is lovely, it reminds me of a clock we used to have in our house!

I wonder if the ears on the headbow are detachable? Hell yes I would wear it regardless, but just in the even that the bow was wanted on a chillin, casual day...
I would love to wear this series to maths class.

Moitié - Rose Frame Coat (name?)

It's that time of year again! Brand are starting to put coats on sale and up for reserve for the winter ahead! Angelic Pretty have already started the reservations, and Moitié won't be left behind!

The following coat has just been released in two colours:

And some detail shots:
The details are lovely. I adore the print on the coat, it's obvious enough to stand out, but subtle enough not to draw too much attention from the rest of the piece.

This coat will set you back 65100 yen (€614), and my goodness I would pay every cent of it if I could. I am a sucker for Moitié, and have a list of prints and pieces I would love to own, and now I find myself adding this coat to the list!

If you're getting this, I envy you an unspeakable amount.

I'm Doing It Again.

But I'll stop now, I promise.

I've decided that I should be a little more active on this blog as well as on forums, so Imma do just that!

I have all these high and mighty plans about getting back into sewing all proper like, but I've been saying since January that I'd make myself a dress.... O____O"

On that note, I'm going to start posting new releases and news again, just to get back into the swing of things.

YOU HEARD IT HERE. for some tea.

That's another thing, I'm sick at the moment, which is why I've been dilly-dallying and not making a new vlog post. I'd be all croaky and bleh.

I'm Neglecting You People Like Crazy

I blame Youtube, Twitter and general musics.

Seriously, my head's been full of nothing but music for a while now. There are sheets strewn all over the place with bits and pieces of songs scribbled, half of which are rambles which will be scrapped, the other half might actually be useful...

I'm going to try to post more. Actually, that's a silly thing to say because I'll be at a friends house for two weeks, starting Sunday, and I'll probably be a mad person during that time. I plan to film crazy happenings though, they'll be going up on the aul vlog, which Imma post to tomorrow, or some time.

In the mean time, here's the link for the band I'm starting with a friend or two. We're called Sabertooth Youth. We haven't any music up yet or anything, but I assure you, the way things are going, it won't be too long! We've a few songs in progress, and we're still looking for a drummer and a guitarist, so if we manage to rope in some awesome people we're good to go.

And that's about the size of it for the minute... now I have some magazines to read and some tea to drink.
No, I lied, I need toast too.

Str8 2 Video - A.K.A. I Have One Of Those Vlog Things.

Yeah, I did that. I went there. I started one. I may regret it.

Here's a link to my Youtube Channel:

And subscribe, if you dare.

I'll still post stuff here, because my vlog is just going to be a bit crazy.

So that's about the size of it.

Do have fun. :)

Reaction to EGL's Lolita Promotion Contest

Honestly, that's all I could think of.

Okay, I lied, THIS is all I could think of.

And now I should sleep before I completely lose my mind.

Meta's Fairy Tale Series!

Yes, I'm back! Exams are over and I've spent a few days recovering (hehe) and I'm posting again!

So here's the lowdown on Meta's latest series, simply named "Fairly Tale".

There'll be an op (23800 yen):

A lace-up JSK (22800 yen):

A button-up JSK (22800 yen):

A skirt (9800 yen) :

Socks (2200 yen):

A half bonnet (7400 yen):

Annnd, a headdress (3600 yen):

Wait for it, wait for it....

...print close-up!
*falls in a faint*
Now that I've made you more than aware of the existence of this series, I'm going to fangirl over the lavender.
Look at that! It's got butterflies and purple and a birdcage and stuff! I love those things! They're great!

*clear throat*
Now that I'm done with that, here's the info.
Meta are going to start taking reserves on the 10th of this month (this Friday!), and this time around they won't be charging until the order is completed. Pretty nifty eh?

So who's running in circles and doing backflips for this?

I Have A Tweeter, And Why I've Been Quiet

No, not a twitter, a tweeter. It sounds so much more fun :)

You can follow me here:!/Josiephone
For fun and... stuff.

Anyway, I'm sorry I haven't posted in a while even though there's been stuff to blog about, I have summer exams until Thursday, which I'm supposed to be studying for right now...

So I might go do that now, might.

MMM's Silent Moon

It's just been announced that Moi-Meme-Moitié are releasing a new series called Silent Moon.

The following pictures of the series have been released:

The print White on Black

And of course, Mana-sama himself wearing the Black on White one.

But that's not all, folks! There are so many colourways for this release that... well... there's a lot. A BIG LOAD.

White x Black
White x Blue
White x Silver
White x Gold
Black x White
Black x Blue
Black x Silver
Black x Green
Black x Gold

I reckon Mana's tasted the rainbow lately, because I've never known a Moitié release, hell, ANY release to have so many different colours.

There'll be an OP, a long OP and a JSK.
And oh man, I want a Black x Green OP SO BAD.

From what I can see and find, there's nothing out yet about the release date, but I'm sure there'll be something about it soon. I have a feeling that this will be a very popular series!

Claudia, The Fairy Tale Princess

On Baby's blog, yet ANOTHER new release has been announced. This will be called "Claudia, The Fairy Tale Princess", and, as with most release announcements, there are no photos just yet.

Is it just me, or are Alice And The Pirates and Baby putting a LOT of items for reservation lately? Maybe too many things?

Night Fairy Fantasia has only just gone on reservation, and a new print already? AATP and Baby aren't the only ones doing this, of course, Angelic Pretty are guilty too. Honey Cake, Aqua Princess, Sheep Garden... maybe I'm just being all early morning-y, but it just seems like too much in such a short space of time.

I think brands need to hold back some releases, becase they're all running into each other, but that's just me, and my complaint probably stems from the lack of time to save up for a series before it's released, not that I manage to do that anyway.

I'll keep a sharp eye out for the first pictures of "Claudia, The Fairy Tale Princess" and update about it as soon as possible!

Angelic Pretty, WHY DO YOU MOCK ME?

Hellloooooo night sky! I think this is an absolutely beautiful print. I think it's called Shooting Star... something or other... regardless, I love it.

But, there is one problem.

From what I've found, it's high-waisted only. Do you know how awkward I am in dresses with waists THAT high? Go find a penguin and cross it with a camel, that's me.
I would LOVE the dark blue and black ones in a normal waisted JSK style. I would eat trees for them. Yes, trees. Bark, leaves and all. Oh please AP, think of all the penguin camels!

EDIT: Just heard that this is unconfirmed, and was just posted on a tumblr or something. But still, it's pretty as hell. And what's this? Rumours of a Milky Planet Re-Release? EMPLOY ME! QUICK!

Remember That Really Pretty Bodyline Print?

I'm sure everyone remembers the bag that Bodyline released a while ago with that cute sweet-classic print. If not, here's a refresher:
And some detail:
And we all said 'Bodyline has learned! Good Mr. Yan, you're doing it right! Here's a cake, now let's forget about the boobie glasses and have some tea.'
Honestly though, this is one of the prettier prints that Bodyline's produced (not counting replicas :P), and the blue is just beautiful1
So, judging from past happenings, we expected the skirt/jsk to be released soon, and we waited.
And waited.
And, what do you think pops up on the japanese site?

....*takes back cake*
I mean, fair enough, some people like it, and when it's done right it's pretty fine, but why not just make a nice, straightforward jsk? Or a skirt? Why must you make our lives difficult? It's not even a particularly wa-style print. Or if you must make wa, make jsks too?
Come on Bodyline, so close to winning, stop doing this to yourself!

For This, I'll Dive In The Antarctic.

Right, I'm sure you're all well-acquainted with AP's new Aqua Princess print which has been released (if not, DO YOU LIVE IN A CAVE?), but oh man. This print is so pretty I just can't shut up about it.

I love, love, LOVE the blue one:
I suppose, being blue, it just brings out the whole 'Aqua' aspect of it :P
But wait, there's more!
The print sparkles! Look at that! Shine a light and we can have a mermaid disco! :D

Just when I thought this print couldn't get any better...
...I saw the black one.
LOOK AT YOU, DRESS! YOU WIN SO MUCH YOU COULD EXPLODE! EVACUATE THE AP STORES AND LET ME IN! I'm qualified at diffusing dress bombs by... taking them home to my secret lab *cough* wardrobe *cough*
But seriously, I love the colour purple, that being THIS colour, not lavender (but that's great too), and it makes me happy to see it more often in dresses.
Awh, you know, if I hadn't been all SPENDY SPEND SPEND in the last few weeks I could be getting this, but I completely forgot about it.

(However, I assure you (and myself!) that it was money well spent, and I'll be documenting that soon!)

Is anyone getting Aqua Princess? OP, JSK or skirt? If so, I am dead jealous.
DEAD jealous. *stretched smile*

Bodyline's Customer Support Seems To Have Improved...

...however, this isn't the type of support I had in mind...

New slogans, perhaps?
Bodyline support, no strings attatched.

Oh Mr. Yan, you just don't know what to sell next, do you?
He clearly wants to live a fuller life... *rolls on floor like a crazy person*

Commenting on the current comment climate.

I just want to say that I'm sorry if I'm ignoring comments or anything. I'm getting e-mails for new comments, but I can't actually see them. See, I've been trying to import the comments from LLL too, but I don't mind so much if that doesn't work. What I do mind is if Disqus doesn't work because, well, I like the reply function :P

Just though I'd let you know, in case you think I'm being all silly and ignorant.

In the next episode: Another rather irrelevant post! (most likely...)

Sunday, April 24, 2011

Well now!

Welcome to Sorbet Noir! Nothing much will be different about his blog in comparison with LLL, only that it has a different name. It's still as Lolita as ever, though with a little bit of everything else thrown in for good measure.

That's about the size of it really...

The Straw Bag

I've always loved straw bags and baskets, but never bothered to buy one. Only recently have I begun to appreciate them fully, and as though they could read my mind, Metamorphose are releasing some straw basket bags of their own!

There are five bags being released, all of which are lovely, but this is my absolute favourite.

This is the Denim Strawberry Bag, and it's being sold for 8190 yen (Around €70)
I love the shape of this particular bag, and, well.. I'm just a sucker for strawberries! Admittedly though, I wouldn't pay that much for a straw bag. It is darling, and it's brand, but big deal, it's nearing summer, and straw baskets and bags shouldn't be too difficult to come by.

I'm a sucker for country Lolita, and a straw bag can give an outfit a really beautiful touch of 'Hey, it's a nice day, I'm going on a picnic, because I have a basket, and I'm actually rather happy about it.'
Slight exaggeration, but you get me.

I don't know about you, but I'm going to keep my eyes peeled for one around the shops. I might even check around the charity shops too... you never know, I could have luck :)

Baby Clearly Thinks We're Made Of Money... And Blind.

Lies. All of it.

At the moment, Baby The Stars Shine Bright is probably my favourite brand. So, you can imagine my surprise when I saw the four new items they have for reservation.

1. "Princess Dreamy Dress"
If your first thought was also "...what?" then you're not alone! What is this, what does it do? Why does it look awkward? IS THIS WHAT THEY DOODLE ON THE COFFEE TABLE IN THE BTSSB BREAK ROOM? much does it cost?
92,400 yen.
And that's the best part of €800.

2. Arietta Princess Dress Ball
My first thought with this was "Nice concept, horribly overdone." Look at all the bows and lacey bits and... assorted bits and pieces. But in general, no Baby, bad Baby.
This piece is the same price as the first one, but wait! It has a hat, canotier, thing!

3. The Princess Ball Arietta Canotier

It's like a fancy pancake of... stuff and flowers. And how much does this cost?
21,000 yen.
That's nearly €180

So, if you want the set, you'll have to dish out almost €1000. For real.

4. Marie de Lumiere
Yes, my friends, it's a wedding dress, one mother of a lacy one, too! I'm pretty sure Meta released a wedding dress a while back, but, you know, Baby didn't have to compete, really, no one forced them, but then this appeared. Let's get married in burando, all the young kids are doing it these days....
How much does this cost?
126,000 yen. That's not a typo.
That's nearly €1100. That's not a typo either.
I'm deadly serious, and so are they.

All these items are on reserve, and being shipped out in September. Hope you're not doing backflips of impatience for these ones...

A Thought For The Day.

I know what it's like to wear Lolita for the first time in public, it can be pretty nerve-wracking. So if you're wearing it for the first time, or if you often find yourself being too worried by what people will say or think of you, keep this in mind:

"I care not what others think of what I do, but I care very much about what I think of what I do. That is character!" - Benjamin Franklin.

I found that quote about a month ago, or maybe more, and posted it to Facebook, and I only realised the significance of it when related to Lolita fashion, or fashion which is out of the ordinary.
I was in town yesterday, and I couldn't count the amount of people who laughed, shouted, or sang a chorus of 'Mary Had A Little Lamb' (out of tune, too). But, since I started wearing Lolita, which is almost a year and a half ago, I've learned a lot. I've learned that, to wear the fashion, one must have a tough shell. You can't decide to wear it, hear an insult, and run home bawling, you have to be prepared for it, and you have to prepare to deal with it, and it's usually best to ignore it. Remember, if you truly love what you're wearing, and if you know it looks nice, then don't let anyone put you off it.

I know I have something else to post, but I can't remember what. So here's my temporary wig storage solution for your entertainment.
I never thought the music was particularly.. *snigger*.. hair-raising... *chokelaugh*
Oh I need to stop. xP

Baby's Chocolate Fascinate Fairytale

Not being a brand to leave a break between prints, Baby has a new series, Chocolate Fascinate Fairytale, up for reserve. (I swear, all this chocolate is going to give me some serious cavities...)
In the series, alongside the two different types of JSK, are socks, a bag, a headbow and a skirt. That's right, no OP!

Here are the two types of JSK:

Okay, let me be honest here, I am somewhat in love with this.
Though both are lovely, I prefer the second one. The first one appears to be high-waisted, and I much prefer normal-waisted dresses, but there you go, that's just me.

Now, on to the print itself. There are four colours, as follows:

It's a lovely print, there's no denying it. Who doesn't want a cute little village scene on their skirt? However, I feel as though the print is a tad out of season. To me, it looks like a winter print, what with the snow, both falling and on the ground. That said, I'd probably still get it if I could, in brown. Ahh brown, you lovely colour you.

Here's the link to the reservation page:

Is anyone getting it? If so, what colour? I'm very curious :P
